Kottbullar

meatballs made with a mixture of grated or minced onion, beef, pork, egg and milk; meatballs are fried in lard. In some parts of the country served accompanied by a thick meat sauce, in others with mashed potatoes and scrambled cranberries in sugar.



Kroppkakor

Smörgåstårta

kind of salt cake, armed layered with ham, shrimp, eggs, tuna. It is usually served at celebrations.

The Swedes appreciate much cheese and bread. They have large varieties of both. With regard to cheese prefer hard and almost all houses some variety is served at breakfast, served with toasted bread or rye bread.
